Marilyn Carnes Taylor, 69, of Pageland, SC passed away on December 4, 2023. She was born on April 7, 1954 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late William H. Carnes and Grace Price Carnes. She is predeceased by her husband, Byron Eugene Taylor.

A devout member of Providence Baptist Church, Marilyn found great solace and joy in her church family. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, providing her with strength and comfort during life's many trials and tribulations. Her commitment to her faith community was unwavering, and she participated wholeheartedly in church activities and gatherings.

Marilyn's zest for life was evident in her many interests and hobbies. She relished the opportunity to dine out with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter over a good meal. The Ball Theater was a favorite place where she enjoyed the latest films and the camaraderie of fellow moviegoers. Road trips and shopping excursions were adventures she looked forward to, always eager to explore new places and find the perfect item to add to her collection.

A lover of words, Marilyn found pleasure in word games, challenging herself and others with her quick wit and extensive vocabulary. Her competitive spirit shone through during bingo at Springhill, where she was a beloved figure, known for her friendly banter and generous spirit.

Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship, including her brother-in-law, John Taylor of Kershaw, SC, and numerous special and loving cousins who will miss her dearly. Her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be remembered not just for the life she led, but for the countless lives she touched with her kindness and warmth. Marilyn's memory will continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the beauty of a life dedicated to family, faith, and friendship.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor David Bridwell officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
