Mrs. Mary Plyler Duncan, 87, of Murrells Inlet, SC formerly of Pageland, SC, widow of Dr. J.T. Duncan passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Mary Plyler Duncan was born November 6, 1931 in Monroe, NC to the late Alvis (AB) Hulon Plyler and Aileen Heglar Plyler. She later met and united in marriage to the late Dr. J.T. Duncan. Mary never met a stranger and loved everyone that she met. She enjoyed spending time at the beach especially with family. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughter and daughters of the heart. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her son, James Hulon Boyd; step-daughter, Jane Duncan and sister, Betty Chambers. Those left to celebrate and remember her life include her loving daughter, Theresa Rollings (J.C.) of Lancaster, SC; step-son, Dr. James Thomas "Tommy" Duncan Jr. (Carol) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Tonya Vinson of Richburg, SC, Jonathan A. Rollings (Emily Mahaffey) of Lancaster, SC, Philip M. Rollings of Lancaster, SC, James H. Boyd Jr. of Lancaster, SC and Chaucey Boyd of Lancaster, SC; great grandchildren, Sydnee Rollings of Lancaster, SC, Samson Rollings of Lancaster, SC, Jacob Rollings of Lancaster, SC and Madison Vinson of Richburg, SC; special friend, John Frank Parker of Murrells Inlet, SC. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The family will receive friends following the Graveside Service in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Pageland.
