Matthew Joseph Hutchens, 29, of Kershaw, SC passed away on January 9, 2024. He was born on January 4, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Marvin Hutchens.

Matthew's life was a testament to the joy he found in simple pleasures and the bonds of family. He was the beloved son of Tony and Tricia Hutchens of Kershaw, SC, who nurtured his generous nature. As a father, he loved to spend time with his daughters, Natalia and Elianna Hutchens.

His siblings, Brandon Hutchens (Arianna) of Waxhaw, NC, Amber Hutchens of Kershaw, SC and Tyler Hutchens of Kershaw, SC, shared in Matthew's many adventures and will forever hold dear the memories of their brother in their hearts. His paternal grandmother, Dianna Hutchens of Jefferson, SC and maternal grandparents, Francisco and Ana Martinez of Pageland, SC were sources of guidance throughout his life.

Matthew was very artistic- loved drawing and tattoos. He was looking forward to getting a portrait of his daughters. An avid sports enthusiast, Matthew loved playing sports as a kid and continued to love sports throughout his life. He had a passion for his L.A. sports teams. He was a big city boy living in a small town. He loved to work the land on the tractor with his dad.

The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Baumgartner Funeral Home.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Baumgartner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Blackmon Cemetery of Kershaw, SC.
