Michael Ralph Middleton, 76, of Jefferson, SC passed away on January 14, 2026 in Lancaster, South Carolina. He was born on July 17, 1949 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late Cleveland Ralph Middleton and Katie Alma Morgan Middleton.

During his younger years, Michael enjoyed sailing. He was a mechanic in the Marine Industry and worked for a marina. Michael served his country in the National Guard.

Michael is survived by his devoted friend, Carol, who stood by him with unwavering support and love. His ex-wife, Sharon Thompson of Telico Plains, Tennessee, remembers him fondly for the shared memories and life lessons they experienced together.

He is survived by his sister, Vana Middleton Dumez of Cheraw, South Carolina and his cousin and caretaker, Steve Middleton of Jefferson, SC was a source of strength and comfort during his final days. Michael's life was also enriched by the presence of his brother-in-law, Terry Dumez, and his second wife, Cathy, who both predeceased him.
