Mr. Mitchell Wayne "Pop" Sullivan, 72, of Jefferson, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC. Mitchell was born in Chesterfield County to the late Lonnie and Cleo Sullivan. Mitchell attended Jefferson High School & business school in Charlotte. Mitchell worked with Kendall in Bethune, SC for many years as a data processor. He was a member of Fork Creek United Methodist Church. Upon retirement, he became a full time baby sitter to all of his Grandchildren, the job he loved the most. Mitchell was a passionate Clemson Tiger fan, an avid Shark Tank watcher and also enjoyed grocery shopping, doing laundry and yard work. Mitchell is survived by his son, Mitch Sullivan of the home, son Monte and daughter-in-law Lynn Sullivan of Jefferson,SC and daughter Susan and son-in-law Larry Melton of Jefferson, SC. He is also survived by his loving Grandchildren Stoan Christian Sullivan, Slade Sullivan Melton, Hart Alexander Melton, Trace Eliot Melton and Ryn Elizabeth Melton. Mitchell is also survived by one sister, Peggy and brother-in-law J.C. York of Charlotte, NC and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Honorary Grandchildren are Zane, Beau, Victoria, Hillary, Chase and Grant Rollins. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jane, whom he loved dearly. Graveside services will be held at Jefferson Town Cemetery on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 4 PM with Pastor Carl Ritter officiating. Family members will be receiving friends at the home and following the Graveside Service at Jefferson Town Cemetery.
