Mr. David Larry Penegar, 67 of Jefferson, South Carolina went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, North Carolina while surrounded by his loving family and under the wonderful care of Hospice. Mr. Penegar was born on Friday, April 23, 1948 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late Paul Penegar and Minnie Keziah Penegar. He later met and united in marriage to Kaye Whitley. He retired as a sales associate in the tool department at Lowe's Home Improvement Store. Since retirement, he was the custodian at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC. Mr. Penegar was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his Sister, Eva Howey and Brother, Ray Penegar. Mr. David Larry Penegar is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye Penegar, Sons, Kelly Lane Penegar (Teresa) of Laurel Springs, NC, Russell Bryant Penegar (Monica) of Jefferson, SC and Jeff Darrell Penegar (Jennifer) of Little River, SC, Brothers, Henry Penegar (Mary) of Monroe, NC and Dillan Penegar (Lane) of Monroe, NC, Sisters, Lula Mae Austin of Charlotte, NC, Velma Boatright of Waxhaw, NC and Pauline Long of Monroe, NC, Grandchildren, Colby Bryant Penegar, United States Navy, Corpus Christi, TX, Gretchen Rose Penegar of Jefferson, SC, Hunter Penegar of Little River, SC, Maxwell and Marshall Penegar both of Laurel Springs, NC and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor David Sanders officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church.
