Mr. James Parks Cox, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 in Monroe, NC under the loving care of Hospice of Union County. James Parks Cox was born on December 25, 1930 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late James Dalton and Eunice McManus Cox. He is preceded in death by his son, James Michael Cox. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, JoAnn Collins Cox of Monroe, NC; Son, Timothy Scott Cox of Monroe, NC; Grandchildren, Michael Paul Cox of Jefferson, SC, Jeffery David Cox of Jefferson, SC, Brandon Shane Cox of Monroe, NC and Taryn Shay Cox of Lancaster, SC and Six Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Walters Cemetery in Monroe, NC with Pastor Robert Palisin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Baumgartner Funeral Home.
