Mr. Robin Earl Middleton of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Jefferson, SC
Mr. Robin Earl Middleton went to be with Ma Jess and The Lord on Monday, August 5, 2013. Robin was born in Charlotte, NC, on August 20, 1944, the son of the late Thomas Clinton and Jessie Perry Middleton. Known by many of his friends as "Zero," he graduated from Jefferson High School where he was an athletic standout, and he also attended Wingate University. Robin served for four years in the US Navy, stationed in Rome, Italy. He spent his early career in industrial chemical sales in Charlotte, NC, before moving to North Myrtle Beach, SC, where he joined AAA as a sales associate.
He volunteered with distinction for the Charlotte Southern Chapter of the Lion's Club, where he was elected President in 1981 and "Lion of the Year" in 1989. Robin was also an avid southern history buff, and a proud member of the Sons of the Confederacy. Most importantly, he was a devoted and loving father, and a beloved friend to many.
The family will hold a brief private Graveside Ceremony prior to the service. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on August 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at Jefferson Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, SC. Friends are warmly invited to join the family afterwards for a gathering at the Jefferson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Robin is survived by his Sons, Robin Meade Middleton of Atlanta, GA and Bo Vaden (Suzanne) of Decatur, GA; Brother, LTC (Ret) Tom Middleton and Wife Dee of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Sister, Gail Middleton Leaird of Pageland, SC; Grandchildren, Morgan and Jack Vaden of Decatur, GA.
