Pageland, SC - Mrs. Edith Clamp Watts, passed away on May 1, 2013 at the Agape Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. She was 94. Ms. Watts was born in Aiken County, SC the daughter of James Felton and Minnie Bell Clamp. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Louie Watts Sr. Mrs. Watts was a homemaker and later retired from South Caroline Electric. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland.
Mrs. Watts grew up in Salley, SC where she graduated from High School as Valedictorian of her senior class. She attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill. While visiting a close relative in Pageland she met and fell in love with the man she married. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage.
Mrs. Watts was a passionate gardener, loved cooking and sewing for her family and enjoying reading. She was gifted with many talents as is evident by the beautiful quilts she made for her children.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis Deaton (Bob) of Duncan, SC, Samuel Louie Watts Jr. (Lenore) of Lancaster, SC, Amelia Clontz (Joe) of Pageland, SC, Kathryn Hicks of Lancaster, SC, Anna Hill of Lancaster, SC and James Felton Watts (Janice) of Lancaster, SC, Thirteen Grandchildren, Twenty Six Great Grandchildren and Three Great Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Pageland. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:30 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Pageland.
