Mrs. Linda Cox Laney, 66, of Jefferson, SC passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Linda Cox Laney was born on February 19, 1954 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late John McClain and SuLee Starnes. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard McClain. Mrs. Laney was a friend to everyone that never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family and loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed working in her garden and planting all kinds of flowers. During Christmas, she loved to decorate the house both inside and outside. Her and her husband, Jeff attended Twin Pines Baptist Church. Mrs. Laney is survived by her husband, Jeff Laney of Jefferson, SC; sons, Paul Cox (Melissa) of Jefferson, SC and Jeff Cox (Renea) of Monroe, NC; brothers, Richard McClain and J.W. McClain both of Jefferson, SC; sisters, Shirley Hayes of Pageland, SC, Parnell Steen of Jefferson, SC, Virginia "Tudy" Craig of Jefferson, SC, Catherine McManus of Pageland, SC, and Daisy Mae McManus of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Cheyenne Cox, Braxton Cox, Jazmyn Cox, David Cox, and Bryce Cox and her loving dogs, Princess, Macey, Jazz, Molley, Babyface Nelson, Cornbread, Miss Pete, Big Dave, Prince, Queenie, Jace, Rose, Blanche, Ginger, MaryAnn, and Miss Howell. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church. There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 3:15 PM at Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC with Pastor Tommy Moser officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times.
