Ms. Mary Frances (Carnes) Platts died quietly on August 12, 2015 in Myrtle Beach, SC at the age of 85. Ms. Platts is survived by her children, Katharine Carreaux of London, England, Ernie Platts and wife Lois of Myrtle Beach, Robert Platts and wife Tammy of Columbia and Rusty Platts of Pageland. Other surviving family members are her Sister, Shirley Carnes Faile and husband Leroy, Daughter-in-Law, Wanda Platts, Grandchildren, Wesley Platts, Chelsea Platts and Adam Airington, Great-Grandchildren, Jeremiah Oliver and Braeden Clay, as well as many Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved Son, Kenneth Eric Platts, and Grandson, James Russell Platts II, and Brothers, Dwight Edward and Roger Dale Carnes. Mary was born on June 24, 1930 in Chesterfield County to Cicero Cirenus (Bub) and Virginia Williams Carnes. She was an active member of Union Hill, High Point and Providence Baptist churches prior to moving to Myrtle Beach. Mary was also one of the founders in 1989 of the vibrant Pageland Singles Club that ran for many years. She attended Forestbrook Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach and was an active member in the senior choir and the Christmas Cantatas each year. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held August 22, 2015 at 11:00AM at Union Hill Baptist Church in Pageland, SC with the Inurnment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will have a reception following the services. Pastor Lloyd Odell Grant of Joy Freewill Baptist Church of Hamlet, NC will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary's life.
