Mrs. Nancy Griffin Carnes Funderburk ,75, of Pageland, SC fought a courageous battle for many years. She was healed on Sunday February 9, 2020, when God called her to her Heavenly home. She was surrounded and blanketed with love by her family. Mrs. Funderburk was born on June 10, 1944 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late John Oscar and Paris Abigail Hunter Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband Dwight E. Carnes two sons, Danny E. " Dano" Carnes, Timothy "Tim" D. Carnes, second husband, James A. Funderburk; brothers, Carson Griffin, Rance Griffin, Harold Griffin, Oscar Griffin; and sister, Mary Frances "Frankie" Deese. Mrs. Funderburk spent her entire career working for Springs Industries (Bleachery) in Lancaster, SC. Upon retiring in 2007 she enjoyed raising goats and deer, working in her flowers and shrubbery and spending time outside. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Pageland, SC before her health declined. Mrs. Funderburk is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Noelle Carnes; grandson, Justin Lee Carnes (Brooke); special grandson, Ricky Lewis; and great grandchildren, Bryson Deese, Arianna Wilson, Kenzlee McNeil, and Greyson Carnes; daughter in law, Melinda Carnes (John Smith) all of Pageland, SC; sisters, Luna Anne Rollins and Roxie Williams both of Pageland SC and Linda Wallace of Charlotte, NC; thirty one nieces and nephews; dedicated caregivers, Debbi Hunter, Amy Hicks, Margie Eason, Elaine Griffin and Tiffany Joplin, and her fur babies Penny and Tom. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, Pageland, SC. The family is meeting at the home of Noelle Carnes, 1661 Hwy 601South, Pageland, SC 29728. The funeral will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 3:00PM at Union Hill Baptist Church in Pageland, SC with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of South Carolina from Lancaster, for their undivided attention, their care and all of the kindnesses.
