Nancy Jane Leaird Kindred, 88, of Tallahassee Florida, formerly of Pageland, South Carolina affectionately known as Nancy to her friends and family, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on July 15, 1936, in McBee, South Carolina, to the late Barnwell Leaird and Maude Woodward Leaird. She is predeceased by her daughter, Leigh Ann Kindred; her brothers, Charlie Leaird and Carson Leaird.

Nancy dedicated her life to the service of others, beginning her career as a compassionate Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her commitment to healthcare and helping those in need was unwavering, and she continued to serve with distinction until her retirement from the state of Alabama after forty-one years of faithful service. Her professional legacy is one of kindness, excellence, and an enduring commitment to the well-being of her patients and colleagues.

Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy was a woman of many interests and talents. She had a particular passion for gardening, Nancy also had a love for cooking. Nancy exemplified what it means to be loving and friendly. Her faith was the guiding light of her life, providing her with strength and serenity through all of life's trials and triumphs.

Family was the cornerstone of Nancy's life. She is survived by her loving son, Grady Kindred of Wetumpka, AL; her daughters, Luanne Kindred of Tallahassee, FL, and Kendra Goodwin of Wetumpka, AL. Nancy's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Josh, Stanley, Jessica, Tesla, Niko, Chaz, and Jeridan, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Golden, Langley, Grayson, Harrison, Michael, Cason, Isabella, Charlotte, RJ, and Gabe. Each of them carries a piece of Nancy's spirit and love, which she so generously shared.

Nancy's life was one of connection and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether it was a quiet afternoon in the garden, a lively family dinner, or simply a warm embrace, she made sure that her love was felt and her wisdom imparted. Her presence was a comforting constant in their lives, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.

There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Cemetery of Pageland with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
