Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Mungo Byrd, 83, of Pageland, SC went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 unexpectedly. Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Mungo Byrd was born on July 18, 1937 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Reuel Reeves Mungo and Edith Laster Mungo. She met and united in marriage to Johnny Byrd. She is preceded in death by her son, James "Butch" Edward Deese; sisters, Sarah M. Coates, Dorothy M. Lilly, Tommie Sue Deese, Mary M. Todd and Betty Jo Johnson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. She enjoyed taking part in various church activities, was a part of the WMU and attended the Outreach Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pat was a member of the Red Hat Society. She received an Associate's Degree from Kings College. Mrs. Pat was an avid sports fan and loved to watch game shows on television. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Johnny Byrd of the home; daughter, Janice Deese Morris (Joey) of Lancaster, SC; sons, Bruce "Tommy" Thomas Deese (Melba) of Camden, SC and Robert "Tony" Anthony Deese of Jefferson, SC; sister, Barbara M. Johnson (Walter) of Kershaw, SC and grandchildren, Jamie Deese, Josh Deese, Jonathan Rivers, Jay Rivers and Justin Deese. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times.
