Patricia Ann Katchue, 82, of Marshville, NC passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 in Marshville, North Carolina.
She was born on October 6, 1941, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late John Baer and Florence Palmer Baer. She was the beloved wife of the late George Katchue.
She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of her son, George Katchue (Rhonda) of Pageland, SC; her daughter, Kathy Boyd (Frank) of Charleston, SC; her brother, John Baer (Ruth) of New Hampshire; her sister, Debbie Hart (Greg) of Jefferson, SC; her adored granddaughter, Caitlin Bradshaw (Alan) of Marshville, NC; and her precious great-granddaughter, Lexi Bradshaw of Marshville, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Pat's life was enriched by her active involvement in her community and her faith. A dedicated member of Shiloh Baptist Church, she lived her beliefs through service and fellowship. Her commitment to her community extended to her participation in the Eastern Star, where she formed many enduring friendships. She was a woman of many interests, finding joy in the art of crafting and needlepoint. Pat's love for her family was immeasurable, especially the time she spent with her great-granddaughter, Lexi, who brought her immense happiness. Pat's faithful companion, her dog, Izzy, was never far from her side. Together, they shared a bond that brought comfort and companionship throughout the years. Pat's love for adventure and discovery was evident in her fondness for thrift store treasures. An avid reader, Pat's thirst for stories was quenched by the pages of countless books. Camping trips with her family were cherished occasions where memories were made. Pat's evenings were often spent in the glow of the television, enjoying her favorite shows on the Hallmark Channel. "Murder She Wrote" and "Perry Mason" were among her beloved staples, providing her with suspenseful entertainment and the comfort of familiar characters.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Shiloh Baptist Church.
There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 4:15 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 N. Rocky River Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the church cemetery following the service.
