Mrs. Peggy Knight Demby, 93, of Pageland, SC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 2, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Demby was born on December 2, 1927 in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Brooks Knight and Ella Middleton Knight. She was married to the late Parnell E. Demby, also of Pageland. She is also predeceased by her grandson, Jamey E. Demby and three brothers and four sisters. She was a faithful member of Zion United Methodist Church of Pageland, SC. Peggy loved the outdoors. She was an avid gardener, loved to fish, and loved cooking and canning. Peggy was known for her "famous" Peanut Butter Cookies. Peggy worked many years at Demby's Produce Stand and always took good care of her husband. She loved to spend time with her family and travel, especially to their beach house. Mrs. Demby is survived by her two sons, Robert E. Demby (Anne S.) of Camden, SC and Jack B. Demby (Becky M.) of Matthews, NC; three living grandchildren, Bryant Lee Demby (Natalie A.) of Fort Mill, SC, Bradford Scott Demby (Anna G.) of Portland, OR and Jennifer D. Dasinger (Tim) of Summerville, SC; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Leaird and Doris Laney both of Pageland, SC and several nieces and nephews. Anyone can stop by Baumgartner Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland Mausoleum with Pastor Carl Ritter and J.E. Aldridge officiating. The family will greet friends following the Graveside Service. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 647 Zion Church Road, Pageland, SC 29728 or Agape Care of South Carolina, 404 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the workers at Spring Hill Assisted Living in Pageland, SC for taking such great care of Mrs. Peggy Demby over the years.
