Rev. Troy Lane Metzner, 55, of Pageland, South Carolina formerly of Conway, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Hospice of Chesterfield County. Troy was born on January 14, 1963 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles Edward Metzner and Iris June Pinach. He later met and united in marriage to Mrs. Ellen Metzner. Troy served as a Minister for 24 years. During his time in the Ministry, Troy's faith and dedication to serving the Lord and sharing the love with others lead him to serve many churches faithfully throughout this time. Troy served as Minister for Centenary Central in Marion County, SC, Clinton United Methodist Church in Sally, SC, Union United Methodist Church in Conway, SC, Centenary in Conway, SC, both Bethlehem and Prospect United Methodist Church in Hartsville, SC before eventually moving to Chesterfield County in July 2017 from Conway to Minister at Zion United Methodist Church and Zoar United Methodist Church in Pageland. In his free time, Troy enjoyed anything dealing with airplanes, playing guitar, as well as, singing. He was a student of music. Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving wife of 32 years, Ellen Metzner of Pageland, South Carolina; daughters, Caitlin Metzner of Aynor, South Carolina and Kara Metzner (Nicholas Ciaston) of Conway, South Carolina; brother, Terry Metzner (Sue) of Ohio; sister, Tracy Shilling (Randy) of Ohio; also many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, 606 Beaty Street, Conway, South Carolina 29526.
