Richard "Dickie" Dean Short, Sr., 76, of Lancaster, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 25, 2025 in his hometown of Lancaster, SC. He was born on March 21, 1948 to Samuel William Short and Betty Mungo Short.

Dickie's journey began in Lancaster, where he was a beacon of friendliness and interesting conversation within the community. His early years were shared with his brothers, Freddie and Steve Short, who predeceased him, as did his beloved wife, Louise Short.

A devoted family man, Dickie is survived by his son, Dean Short (Lacey) of Lancaster, SC. His legacy continues through his granddaughter, Taylor Short Finley (Blake), and his grandson, Dalton Driver both of Lancaster, SC.

He enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of watching football, and he stayed informed on current events through his regular viewing of FOX News. He worked as a Painting Contractor for many years.
