Mr. Robert Murray Ratliff, 91, of Marshville, NC passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Robert Ratliff was born on May 25, 1931 in Mt. Croghan, SC to the late George Washington Ratliff and Eliza Jane Polson Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, but attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Farming and family was his life. He farmed cattle and poultry for many years. Robert loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his spare time, he loved listening to Gospel and Country Music. In his later years, he was not able to see well, but his hearing was especially good. He could go out into the fields and he could hear if something was wrong with the equipment. Mr. Ratliff was a simple man that did not like being in crowds. He is predeceased by his sisters, Odessa Caldwell and Sarah Jordan. Mr. Ratliff is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Price Ratliff of Marshville, NC; sons, Robert M. Ratliff, Jr (Judy), Randy S. Ratliff (Gwen), Rodney K. Ratliff (Shelia) all of Marshville, NC and Ricky L. Ratliff of Camden, SC; daughters, Barbara A. Chapman (Dennis) and Gail Ratliff both of Mt. Gilead, NC; grandchildren, Tiffany, Robbie, Ryan, Katie, Lindsey, Kelly, Amanda, Reggie, Ashley, Crystal, Randale, Kim, Chris and Candace and twenty-four great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the Graveside Service. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Pastor Randy Davis and Dr. Mel Winstead officiating.
