Robert Dale "Bobby" Smith, Jr., 54, of Jefferson, SC passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024 in Monroe, North Carolina.

He was born on May 29, 1970 in Charlotte, NC. Bobby grew up in a close-knit family and was the cherished son of Robert D. "Bob" Smith, Sr. and Rena Harris Smith of Jefferson, SC. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mamie Jones. He was a beloved brother to Susan Burch of Jefferson, SC and a special uncle to his niece, Krystal Smith Henke (Josh) and their cherished fur babies, Dyna and Deuce of Myrtle Beach, SC and nephews, Robbie Burch (Erica) and his daughter, Taylor Burch and Dusty Burch (Sarah) and his children, Maddox and Shepherd Burch both of Jefferson, SC. He is also survived by his uncles, Mike and Steve and aunts, Shirley, Deloris, Maynell, Doris, Frances and Gail; cousins, Ty, Cindy, Johnette, Sonny, Tessie, Amanda, Renee, Tammy, Barbie, Chris, Ricky, Mike, Amy, Matthew, Michael, Sandra and Pat and other numerous cousins.

A self-employed construction worker, Bobby was known for his strong work ethic and handy skills. He could fix almost anything and was often called upon by friends and family for his expertise. His involvement in the community through his work was marked by a willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who worked alongside him.

Bobby's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He loved spending time with his family above all else, and was known as the best brother and uncle, always eager to protect and entertain his sister, nieces and nephews. His love for children was evident in every interaction, and his ability to make them laugh was unparalleled. Bobby's zest for life extended to his hobbies as well; he was an avid dancer, singer, golfer, and pool player as well as playing cards. His friends and family will fondly remember his joy in going out to eat, where he was the life of the party, always ready to share a story or crack a joke.

Loving, friendly, and handy are words that only begin to describe Bobby. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a melody, and his willingness to help others a testament to his generous spirit. Bobby's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Macedonia Baptist Church Multi Ministry Building with Pastor David Sanders officiating.
