Rosie Lee Burgess
Knight
Mar 29, 1943 — Jan 18, 2026
Rosie Lee Burgess Knight, 82, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026 in her hometown of Pageland, South Carolina. She was born on March 29, 1943 in the same close-knit community to the late Floyd Burgess and Maude Catoe Burgess.
Her roots ran deep in Pageland, where she was raised alongside her siblings and where she later nurtured her own family. Rosie's legacy continues through her devoted sons, James Howard Airrington and Jimmy "Punky" Arrington (Gayla), and her loving daughters, Kathy A "Sissy" Usher and Gail "Susie" Lambert (Brian) all of whom reside in Pageland. Her brother, John Burgess (Judy Mills) also of Pageland, fondly remembers the bond they shared.
Rosie was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who all brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her granddaughter, Toya Albright, held a special place in her heart. Rosie's family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she instilled in them the values of love, resilience, and the importance of family ties.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Rosie found solace and delight in her garden, tending to her flowers with a gentle touch and a keen eye for beauty. Yard sales and antiques were more than hobbies; they were adventures that allowed her to connect with her community and uncover treasures that spoke to her soul. Fishing was yet another pastime where she found tranquility and the thrill of the catch, often sharing these moments with those she loved most.
Rosie's home was a hub of warmth and laughter, where family gatherings were frequent, and memories were made. Her presence was a comforting embrace, and her laughter was the melody that played in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering spirit, who faced life's challenges with courage and a smile that could light up a room.
