Mrs. Sandra "Sandy" C. Mills, 60, of Monroe, NC, formerly of Pageland, SC passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Monroe, NC.
Sandy C. Mills was born in North Carolina to the late J.B. Carnes and Cora Lee Belk Carnes on March 5, 1960. Sandy met and was united in marriage on June 2, 1984 to her best friend, John Robert "Bobby" Mills. Sandy was a member of Wolf Pond Baptist Church and Philadelphia Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing church softball. Sandy was a member of Lanes Creek Fire Department and a paramedic for 31 years. She always looked forward to spending time with her family and friends. Sandy enjoyed camping and had a love for animals. Sandy was known as being the Mother of Union EMS and the First Responder family, where she served Union County almost her entire life teaching and mentoring so many others. She was always putting others before herself and truly had a servant's heart. She enjoyed attending any sports games or events her son, Garrett played because he was her heartbeat. She will continue being the light for us from up above. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ray Carnes and sister, Carol Collins.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 36 years, John Robert "Bobby" Mills of Monroe, NC; son, John Garrett Mills (Rachel) of Winston-Salem, NC; mother-in-law, Verla M. Mills of Pageland, SC; sisters-in-law, Debbie Graves (Tom) of Clemson, SC and Donna Steen (Danny) of Pageland, SC; close family, Stephanie Connor (Don) of Pageland, SC, Lisa (Brian) Stritt of Greenville, SC, Kelly (Shawna) Collins of Old Fort, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Pastor Mark Evans and Pastor Carroll Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland.
Anyone can come by Baumgartner Funeral Home, from 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM, Monday, October 5, 2020 to sign the register book and pay their respects.
Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering and refrain from handshaking and all types of physical affection.
