Mrs. Sara Middleton Mungo, 93, of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. Mrs. Mungo was born on June 23, 1928 in Pageland, SC to the late Charlie Colon Middleton Sr., and Nell Atkinson Middleton. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank Odell Mungo; son, John Wiley Mungo and brother, Charlie Colon "Jody" Middleton Jr. Mrs. Mungo was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. Starting in 1960, Sara and her husband were the owner and operator of the Villager Motel for 34 years. Mrs. Mungo was the Valedictorian of her High School Class of 1945. Mrs. Mungo loved serving the Town of Pageland and everything about the town. She always loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, Frank Mungo (Dawn) of Florence, KY; grandsons, Allen Mungo and Ben Mungo both of Florence, KY; sister-in-law, Joan Short Middleton of Pageland SC; niece, Lynn Middleton Chapman (Eugene) of Pageland, SC and nephew, Thomas Lee Middleton (Julie) of Lancaster, SC. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery. Family will meet with friends following the graveside service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Pageland, PO Box 126, Pageland, SC 29728.
