Shirley Curlee Benton, 88 of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, in Pageland, South Carolina. She was born on January 29, 1937 in Marshville, North Carolina. Shirley's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and devotion

Shirley was predeceased by her late husband, Rudolph Benton of 72 years; beloved parents, Walter Roy and Aileen Sikes Curlee, her dear son, Larry Benton and her brothers, Billy Wayne Curlee and Harry Curlee.

Shirley's memory will be forever cherished by her sons, Donny Benton (Libby) of Pageland, SC, and Keith Benton (Jackie) of Lexington, SC.

Her daughter-in-law, Kathy Benton of Pageland, SC, will hold many memories of her mother-in-law who was always supportive and caring. Shirley's grandchildren, Beth Benton of Pageland, SC, Clay Benton (Amanda) of Unionville, NC, Brian Benton (Katey), Bradley Benton (Brittany), Brett Benton all of Lexington, SC and Miranda Benton of Pageland, SC, along with her great-grandchildren, Leah McMillan, Jasmine McMillan, Payton McCaskill all of Pageland, SC, Connor Benton of Unionville, NC, Freya Benton, Paisley Benton, Walker Benton all of Lexington, SC, Bentlee Doster, and Brooklyn Johnson all of Pageland, SC and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss their beloved matriarch, whose love for them knew no bounds.

Shirley's passion for life was evident in her love for cooking. An animal lover at heart, Shirley found companionship and joy in the company of her furry friends. Her garden was a testament to her patience and dedication, blooming with the same vibrancy that she carried throughout her life. She participated in Happy Hearts gatherings whenever possible, embracing every opportunity to celebrate life with laughter and fellowship. She was a Sunday school teacher for the Winsome class for many years and later moved to Joyful Noise Sunday school class.

She cherished the times spent camping with family and friends, creating lasting memories under the stars. The beach was a place of serenity for her, where the sound of the waves matched the rhythm of her heart.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pageland, SC.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pageland with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. The burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
