Stephen Frank Alston, 76, of Pageland, SC passed away on April 16, 2026 in Pageland, South Carolina, while surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 24, 1950 in Texas, he lived a life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
Stephen was a devoted family man whose greatest pride was the love he shared with those closest to him. He is survived by his son, Mark Horne and wife, Tosha of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; his daughter, Amber Plattenburg of Pageland, South Carolina, his son Randy Alston and wife Shannon of Fort Myers, Florida, and his son Marc Alston of Mathews, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Jakob Griffin and wife, Mekiah, Brianna Griffin, Kailyn Plattenburg, Sarah, Drew, Tyler Horne, Caitlyn, Jonas, Abigail, Owen and Judson; and his great-granddaughter, Deseree' Griffin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teressa Alston, and by his parents, Henry Alston and Margaret Alston and his daughter Sabrina Alston.
He served as a Parts Department Manager at the local car dealership, where he was respected for his knowledge, his work ethic, and the dependable way he carried out his responsibilities. Outside of work, Stephen found joy in the outdoors and in the peaceful pleasures of everyday life. He loved to grill and treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He also had a special affection for his kitty cats, who brought him comfort and companionship. Stephen was an avid fan of the NC Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers, and he followed both with enthusiasm and loyalty. These interests were part of what made him who he was, and they brought him many happy moments over the years.
