Susan Yvone Rowell, 69, of Lancaster, South Carolina affectionately known as Von, passed away on August 8, 2024, She was born on May 8, 1955, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late William A. Rowell and Lois Dawkins Rowell. Von was a woman whose adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Von grew up in a lively household with her siblings, who remained close throughout her life. She is survived by Rachel Dapper and her husband Dan, Danny Rowell and his wife Kathy, Arnold Rowell and his wife Brenda, all of Lancaster, SC, Nancy Rowell of  North Carolina, Donald Rowell and his wife Myra of Lancaster, SC and Doris Pascal and her husband Drew of Virginia. Von also leaves behind her cherished friend, Wendy Ash and her daughter Kaylee Ash of Lancaster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will fondly remember her vibrant energy and zest for life.

She loved to ride horses, a hobby that brought her immense joy and a sense of freedom. Hiking and camping were among her favorite activities, allowing her to explore and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. Von's green thumb was well-known; Travel was another of Von's pursuits, and she was actively working on fulfilling her bucket list, seeking new experiences and adventures with courage and enthusiasm.

Described by those who loved her as adventurous, handy, and courageous, Von was the kind of person who could fix a fence, start a campfire, and navigate a trail with equal skill. Her hands-on approach to life and ability to tackle challenges head-on were admired by many. Von's legacy is one of living life to the fullest, embracing the unknown, and always being ready for the next great adventure.
