Ms. Vernese T. Kirkley, 80, of Jefferson, SC went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2012 under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Ms. Kirkley is the daughter of the late Dave. N. and Mettie Johnson Terry. She is also precedeased by her husband, Carel C. Kirkley and brothers, Alvin Terry and Ralph Terry. Ms. Kirkley was the founding President of the Chesterfield Chapter NFB (National Federation of the Blind) of SC. She is survived by her Honorary Grandchildren, Samual Purser of Lancaster, SC, Danual Purser of Lancaster, SC, Nathaniel Purser of Lancaster, SC, and Cash Waylon Terry of Ruby, SC, Brother, Ray Terry of Pageland, SC, Sister, Iris Plyler of Pageland, SC and Many Nieces and Nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with the burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall.
