Mrs. Vickie Mattison, 64, of Chesterfield, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Cheraw, South Carolina. Vickie Mattison was born on July 10, 1956 in Pageland, SC to the late Willis Robert Wyland and Bonnie Mullis Wyland. She is preceded in death by her brother, Edward Latty and sisters, Sheila Latty and Michelle Latty. She was a competitive swimmer in her younger days. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and loved to cook for her family. Vickie also had a green thumb for house plants. She was a tour bus driver and volunteered for the Special Olympics as a coach in Alaska. She was a great hand sewer and made some amazing quilts. Vickie also was a weaver by trade and worked for Wellington Industries and Spartan Mills. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and river rafting. Mrs. Mattison is survived by her husband, Kenneth Mattison of Chesterfield, SC; sons, Eric Mattison of Chesterfield, SC and Clay Adams of Mississippi; daughter, Jodie Curlee (David) of Jefferson, SC; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will hold a Memorial Service on their own. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Alaska, 3200 Mountain View Drive, Anchorage, AK 99501.
