Virginia Price Brown, 94, of Shallotte, NC formerly of Pageland, SC passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024 in Shallotte, North Carolina.

Born on July 25, 1929 in Marshville, North Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of the late Cyrus King Price and Dorothy Martin Price. Virginia's life was a testament to her spirited nature and her unwavering commitment to her family and faith. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Herbert L. Brown and brothers, Frederick and Wayne Price.

Virginia Brown, a beacon of love and faith, leaving behind a legacy of education, devotion, and creativity. As a dedicated first and second-grade teacher, Virginia's passion for nurturing young minds was evident in her unwavering commitment to her students. Her love for teaching was only matched by her deep faith, which she lived out as an active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Virginia's Christian beliefs were the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and her loving approach to everyone she met. Her faith was her compass, and it led her to explore the world, embracing the beauty of different cultures and landscapes. A true lover of nature, Virginia found solace and joy in her garden. Her ability to cultivate orchids was unparalleled, a testament to her patience and skill. Not only was Virginia a green-thumbed gardener, but she was also an accomplished seamstress and craftswoman. Her hands were rarely still, always busy creating beautiful things for her family and friends. Virginia's creative spirit was matched by her loving nature, making her home a warm and welcoming place. Virginia Brown will be remembered as a loving, faith-filled, and creative soul. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her, and her teachings will live on in the hearts of her students. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, her spirit as vibrant and nurturing as the gardens she so loved.

Her legacy continues through her surviving siblings; Virgil Price of Pageland, SC, Roger Price (Patsy) of Pageland, SC, Carolyn P. Barnhart (Bill) of Little River, SC, Violet Hildreth of Huntersville, NC, Virgie Ricketts of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rita Woodard (Billy) and Rhonda Huneycutt (Lowell) both of Albemarle, NC. She was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Baumgartner Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Service at 2:15 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland Mausoleum with Pastor Mel Winstead officiating. Entombment will follow the services.
