Obituary

Tripp Kohler, 55, of Pageland died peacefully at his home on October 12, 2022, after a battle with brain cancer. Tripp was born on January 15, 1967, and was the son of Bill Kohler and the late Sally Lewis Kohler. His mother Sally died last year after her own bout with cancer. Tripp was a loving son, brother, and uncle who will be sorely missed by his family. Tripp worked as a landscaper and also liked working in his own yard. Tripp had a dry sense of humor and a great memory for family and community events. He enjoyed listening to rock music since the late 1970s and liked playing the guitar. He also enjoyed cooking for his family. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 16th at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the Graveside Service. Tripp is survived by his father Bill Kohler of Pageland, his sister Meg Kohler Duncan (Mike) of Greensboro, North Carolina, his two nieces Elizabeth Duncan Heydary (Nemat) of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Laura Duncan Kimball (Sam) of Graham, North Carolina, grandniece Hannah Kimball and grandnephews Nemat Heydary and Naveed Heydary. Tripp is also survived by his aunt Margaret Kohler Combs and his uncles Finley Kohler, Crosby Lewis (Cleo) and Dr. Joe Lewis (Jill) of Florence and numerous first cousins. The family expresses its thanks to McLeod Hospice for their assistance in Tripp's last weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 711 Chesterfield Hwy., Cheraw, SC 29520, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of one's choice. Baumgartner Funeral Home of Pageland, South Carolina (www.baumgartnerfh.com) is assisting the Kohler family.
