Mr. Walter Eugene "Gene" Deason, 71, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 in Monroe, NC. Gene Deason was born on February 26, 1949 in North Carolina to the late Harvey Reece and Ethel Frances Horne Deason. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Deason; brothers, James Deason, Wayne Reese Deason, John Frank Deason, William Harvey Deason and sisters, Frances Deason Edwards and Geneva Deason Smith. Gene loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed fishing. Gene also looked forward to singing karaoke. Gene is survived by his sons, Chad Deason (Jennifer) of Pageland, SC and Dennis Deason (Ashley) of Monroe, UT; sister, Margie Deason Noe of Lancaster, SC; brothers, Earl Deason (Thelma) of Pageland, SC, Charles Deason (Anita) of Pageland, SC and Ronnie Deason (Cathy) of Mt Croghan, SC and eight grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Rev. Scott Gibson officiating. If anyone would like to come by Baumgartner Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 1:30PM to 3:30 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects are more than welcome. Due to the government-mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times.
