Obituary

Wanda Rhea Cudd Collins, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Monroe, North Carolina. Born on May 15, 1953, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Wanda was the beloved wife of Jerry W. Collins, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage filled with love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Michael Collins (Bridget) of Jefferson, SC, and the late Mark Collins. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply and she showered Damian Collins (Rachael), Chaynce Allen (Aimee), and Jerry Mark Collins, as well as her grandchildren of the heart, Matthew and Rebecca Gonzales, with love and affection. Her great-grandson, Viktor Allen, was a source of immense joy and pride.

Wanda was predeceased by her parents, Donald Thomas Cudd and Viola Kelly Fallon, her brother, John Seibert, her sister, Rosanna Martin, and her beloved son, Mark Collins. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her son, Michael, her brother, Larry Edward Cudd (Mary), and her sister, Diane Lucke (Bruno) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Wanda's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her melodious voice was a staple in the church choir, and her commitment to helping with children's church demonstrated her passion for nurturing young souls. Wanda's generosity knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She found joy in mowing grass. Her love for the mountains was profound, and she relished every opportunity to escape to their serene beauty. Gospel music provided comfort and inspiration through its harmonious melodies. An avid reader, Wanda's thirst for knowledge and love of stories was insatiable.
