Obituary

William Woodrow Miskelly of Rock Hill, SC transitioned from this world to his heavenly home on June 8, 2025, surrounded by family after several years of ill- health. Mr. Miskelly often stated that he had a good life. His favorite song was "Like A Rock" by Bob Seger.

Mr. Miskelly was born in York, SC on January 7, 1929, to David Ervin Miskelly and Carrie Bell Chavis Miskelly. Mr. Miskelly was a veteran of the SC Army National Guard and served in the air defense of Chicago during the Korean War. He particularly enjoyed his time in Chicago and going to Cubs games. Mr. Miskelly worked most of his life at the Aragon Plant of JP Steven Co. in Rock Hill SC and retired from Cone Mills, Pineville. NC.

Mr. Miskelly was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Brooks Miskelly and by a daughter Martha Carol "Sissy" Miskelly Nieberding. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lynn Miskelly, James Miskelly, and a sister Frances Miskelly Shannon.

Mr. Miskelly is survived by his son, Robert Miskelly (Luella Kiker) and daughter Lynne Miskelly, who was his caregiver in his last years. He is also survived by his later in life companion, Ann Worrall. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh Miskelly, Anna Markease. Katie Nieberding Lambiosi (Tony). Allie Nieberding (Blake Miller), Charles Kilby, Lisa Miskelly Trotter (Chris) and Richard Pigg (Hope). He is also survived by great grandchildren, Lucas and Kenzie Rowe, Grayson Miskelly, Alexander Cobb, Noah Knight, Aaliyah and A'maya Tolbert, Tyler and Trey Doster, and Raylee Pigg.

The family wants to thank Hospice and Community Care of York County for helping to care for our Dad in his last day.

The family wants to thank Baumgartner Funeral Home for assisting with the cremation.

In lieu of flowers, please make any memorials to Hospice and Community Care of York County or Pageland First Presbyterian Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Pageland on July 6, 2025 at 12:30 PM. Mr. Miskelly enjoyed attending services at the church when he was able.
